Marking For Quilting:
Trace quilting motif on tracing paper. Place tracing paper under the quilt top. Lightly mark design on the quilt top with a hard lead pencil. A light source underneath will make it easier to see when tracing. Mark dark-colored fabrics with a chalk pencil. Be sure to test water-soluble pens for removability before using on your quilt by marking on a sample fabric and rinsing out. Straight lines may be "marked" as you quilt by using masking tape that is pulled away after a line is quilted along its edge.
