Bias Strips:
 Prepare a bias strip for appliqué by folding in half lengthwise, wrong sides together (1 1/4" width works best for stems or vines). Stitch 1/4" from the fold. Offset the seam allowance; press toward the center. Trim allowance to 1/8".
