Rebecca A. Stevens, curator at the Textiles Museum in Washington, DC, selected work in this show from an international call for entries from the Studio Arts Quilt Associates, Inc. (SAQA) membership. SAQA is a nonprofit organization whose mission is to promote the art quilt through education, exhibitions, professional development, and documentation. Rebecca Stevens says, "Contemporary art quilts are an exciting and creative force in the fiber are world... They resonate with new voices telling their stories alongside those of the pioneering creators and first generation art quilt makers. And there are many stories to tell."
