ASSEMBLING THE PATTERN DRAWING
The pattern drawing for part one consists of eight pages. Click here to select either HTML format or a downloadable Acrobat PDF format and print out pages. (Individual instructions are given for each format.) After printing, follow instructions printed on each section for cutting out sections and taping them together. Refer to Diagram I when assembling drawing.

MAKING AN OVERLAY PLACEMENT GUIDE
Using a flat surface, lay clear vinyl (or eight pieces of tracing paper taped together) on top of assembled drawing. Trace pattern piece lines onto the vinyl (or paper), using a "black" permanent pen. Be sure to trace the four "pattern placement key" boxes and the perimeter lines around the drawing. The tracing will serve as an "overlay placement guide" as you work with the pattern pieces.

ASSEMBLING BACKGROUND
Step 1) Place freezer paper over Piece #1 of assembled drawing. Trace Piece #1 on "shiny" side of freezer paper. (Diagram II) Cutting slightly to the outside of traced lines, cut out freezer paper template.

Step 2) Place freezer paper template, "shiny" side down, on wrong side of fabric. Using a dry iron, press freezer paper to fabric. (Diagram III)
