Step 4.) Using overlay, position the house and chimney onto background making sure raw edges of trees and road are covered. Pin in place, remove overlay and appliqu>= units. Refer to Diagrams 7A and 7B for sewing sequence and direction guides. (Appliqu>= sides and top of chimney before appliqu>=ing house.)

THE BENTON'S

Step 5.) Sew house and roof fabrics together (Diagram 8A). Remember to position door under the fusible interfacing before stitching layers together. Using overlay, position path, two chimneys, and house onto background making sure raw edges of trees are covered. Pin in place, remove overlay and appliqu>= units. Refer to Diagrams 8B and 8C for sewing sequence and direction guides. (Appliqu>= sides of path and sides and top of chimneys before appliqu>=ing house.)

Step 6.) Assemble door (77), window, (76a), and step (76b) unit (Diagram 9A). Sew two sections of house, roof, and foundation fabrics together (Diagram 9B). Remember to position door unit under the fusible interfacing before stitching layers together.
